Project Description
Set up in 1949, F&H Panton are the largest independent poultry farming group in the UK housing around 1.5 million birds at three sites in Lincolnshire.
When the Panton brothers decided to update their old oil and gas boilers with Biomass Silo Systems, we were contracted to provide fifteen wood pellet silos comprising over 160 tons of fuel storage to go with these new systems.
Some of the silos were installed to feed various containerised biomass boiler plant rooms which were installed on the farms, while others were feeding boilers housed inside purpose built boiler sheds, the chicken sheds themselves.
A number of these silos were supplied with a green pvc finish to match the boiler sheds. All of the silos were supplied with angled outlets for flexible screw augers to feed the boilers.
Panton Brothers conversion to biomass heating has to date yielded a 30% decrease in heating costs, this saving combined with 20 years of RHI payments makes it an extremely cost effective long term investment.
